Fire Protection

The Town of Westboro has its own volunteer fire department. The department is located at W4941 Center St. in Westboro, and covers 125 square miles. The department is staffed by volunteer fire fighters, responds to approximately 12-20 calls per year, and has an Insurance Services Office (ISO) rating of 8 or 9. Department equipment includes: two pumpers (one 1,250 gal./min. and one 1,000 gal./min.), two tankers (one 2,000 gal. and one 2,250 gal.), and an equipment van. All dispatch is through the Taylor County Sheriff’s Department and there are mutual aid agreements with all neighboring departments.
